Primary Responsibilities:
- Bring traditional actuarial skills to provider organizations as the health care market continues to evolve, including:
- Assisting in developing innovative strategies, value-based contracts and innovative risk-based arrangements
- Conducting and documenting complex analysis and research
- Preparing, forecasting, and analyzing trends
- Initiating, compiling and preparing analytical models, tools and databases
- Providing detailed summaries, reports, and recommendations to assist in client decision making and strategic direction
- Other responsibilities may include expense cost projections, claim reserve cost estimates and compiling various financial reports
- Potential areas of focus may include but are not limited to: Healthcare Economics, benchmarking analysis, value-based contract feasibility analysis, and population health analytics
- Develop professionally within an actuarial team, while collaborating with other clinicians, business analysts, and strategy consultants

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years equivalent experience working in the actuary field
- 3+ years of Actuarial/Analytical/Data Science experience
- Experience working with and developing raw claims files
- Advanced level of proficiency using SQL and/or SAS
- Proven expertise working with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs in MS Excel
- Intellectual curiosity and drive to serve clients
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in performing regression analyses
- Experience in large file transfers and/or manipulations
- Experience in handling various file formats (JSON, csv, xls, delimited text files)
- Experience and/or exposure in dealing with health care claims experience (i.e. understanding of costs, expected claims, diagnosis codes, procedure codes)
- Experience in applying optimization procedures (gradient, genetic, ant colony) to a large data set
- Experience and/or exposure to predictive modeling, clustering, etc.
- Candidates on the Actuarial exam track, with a minimum of 2 exams passed
