Pricing partner to underwriting

Closer to a pricing partner than a modelling-heavy IC because recommendations are intended to influence underwriting, renewals, and portfolio decisions.

Associate-level P&C actuarial pricing role in AXA XL’s North America Middle Market Casualty team, based in Hartford, Connecticut. You’ll lead pricing and portfolio analyses, enhance pricing models and rating tools, and partner with underwriting and actuarial leaders to support profitable growth.

Requirements

Must have

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Strongly preferred

  • Extensive actuarial, insurance, data analytics, or related analytical experience
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related quantitative field
  • Near ACAS designation or recently attained ACAS credential
  • Experience using Python, R, SQL, or similar analytical tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborative team player with organizational and time management abilities
  • Intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learning
  • Attention to detail and focus on high-quality work
  • Ability to work without supervision, manage projects, and prioritize competing needs
  • Experience collaborating with underwriting or business stakeholders to translate analytics into recommendations
