JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Develop cost-reporting templates and audit provider cost reports
  • Forecast eligibility, enrollment, utilization, and cost trends
  • Support development of fee-for-service and capitated payment rates
  • Prepare reports and presentations for policymakers and stakeholders
  • Hybrid telework schedule may be available (UMBC Campus, Maryland)

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • Rate setting for publicly funded health insurance programs
  • Developing fee-for-service and capitated payment rates
  • Analyzing large administrative Medicaid and Medicare datasets
  • Forecasting enrollment, utilization, and costs
  • Collecting and auditing provider cost reports

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in actuarial science, economics, finance, math/statistics, or related
  • Actuarial Specialist: Bachelor's +1 year (or Master's with 0 years)
  • Actuarial Analyst: Master's +1 year or Bachelor's +3 years
  • Experience analyzing large administrative health datasets and rate setting
  • Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of SAS is a plus
