Senior health actuarial role in the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner. You will lead complex health and disability rate filing reviews (including ACA filings), perform reserve and solvency analyses, and provide regulatory actuarial advice. Hybrid position based in Tumwater, WA with two days onsite per week.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead review of complex health and disability rate filings, including ACA
- Evaluate data, assumptions, methodologies and take regulatory action
- Support financial examinations, reserve calculations and SAOs
- Hybrid role — based in Tumwater, WA, 2 days in office per week
- Senior role requiring ASA or FSA and membership in the American Academy of Actuaries
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Health actuarial experience
- Individual and small group ACA rate filing review or pricing
- Actuarial financial examination and statutory reserving for health carriers
- Reserve calculations and Statements of Actuarial Opinion (SAOs)
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics or related
- Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries is required
- ASA or FSA of the Society of Actuaries required
- Seven (7) years of full-time professional health actuarial experience
- Ability to be onsite in Tumwater two days per week
