Role type

Pricing partner to product decisions

Closer to a pricing and product partner than a modelling-heavy IC because business decisions and business-partner interaction are explicit, not just model construction.

Senior P&C Actuary role on PEMCO’s Product Development team, supporting personal auto and homeowners insurance. You’ll combine pricing, loss reserving, predictive modelling, regulatory filings, and product decision support. The role is remote from approved states, with occasional travel to Seattle, Washington.

Requirements

Must have

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Mathematics or equivalent
  • 5 years of P&C actuarial experience with rate-making focus and personal lines knowledge
  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS)
  • Strong technical aptitude and programming experience
  • Detail orientation and accuracy
  • Problem solving ability
  • Proficient in MS Office, expert in Excel
  • Knowledge of mathematics, statistics, modeling and predictive modeling skills
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SAS, and/or SQL
  • Analytical skills with disparate datasets and data infrastructure
  • Understanding of insurance industry and business landscape

Nice to have

  • Experience with Radar, Emblem, or ResQ
