At the Actuary Analyst level, you will assist with model development, data analysis, and projection tasks to support planning and regulatory reporting.
At the Senior Actuary Analyst level, you will lead actuarial model development and maintenance, oversee complex statistical analysis, and provide guidance to junior team members while ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance standards.
Essential functions
Shared Responsibilities (Both Levels):
- Develop and maintain actuarial models for valuation, forecasting, pricing, and risk analysis.
- Support cash flow testing (CFT), sensitivity tests, and risk-based capital (RBC) projections.
- Prepare experience studies, actuarial analyses, and summary reports for management.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and data sources.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
Additional for Senior Actuary Analyst:
- Lead model governance and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare actuarial portions of financial statements and statutory exhibits.
- Explain results and make recommendations for management actions and product design.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts.
Both Levels:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); exposure to SQL, VBA, or programming languages preferred.
- Experience with actuarial software (MG-ALFA preferred).
Senior Level:
- Deep knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and actuarial standards.
- Advanced programming skills (SQL, VBA, R) and experience with actuarial projection software.
- Ability to lead projects and mentor team members.
Actuary Analyst: Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field; completion of internship or relevant experience preferred; two actuarial exams preferred.
Senior Actuary Analyst: Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or related field; 2+ years actuarial experience; completion of at least 3 actuarial exams and progress toward ASA designation required.
