Actuary II role on Symetra’s Retirement Pricing team in the United States, focused on Life annuity pricing and product development. You’ll build and enhance MG-ALFA models, develop assumptions, assess profitability and risk, evaluate competitor products, and partner with Product Development and other stakeholders.

Must have
ASA designation required
High school diploma required
Strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a strong quantitative background
Six to nine years of relevant actuarial experience
Experience with actuarial pricing, product development, or financial modeling
Hands-on experience building, maintaining, or enhancing models in MG-ALFA
Ability to analyze competitor products and translate findings into insights
Strong understanding of actuarial concepts, assumption development, profitability analysis, and risk assessment
Ability to take ownership of your work, develop analytical approaches, and move projects forward
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex modeling results
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with actuarial and cross-functional business partners
Creativity and flexibility to recommend and implement improvements to models, tools, and processes
Nice to have
Knowledge of Fixed Annuity, Fixed Indexed Annuity, or Registered Index-Linked Annuity products
