HIGHLIGHTS

Health actuarial internship at Horizon BCBSNJ in Newark, NJ (hybrid). The 11-week summer intern will support reserving, pricing, experience studies and financial projections while working with datasets and analytics tools. This is an undergraduate internship for students who have passed at least one actuarial exam.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

11-week Actuary Intern supporting reserving, pricing and experience studies
Work with datasets to map structures and identify correlations
Use Excel, VBA/SQL and SAS for data analysis and modelling
Hybrid role — Newark office, 1–2 days/week in office
Must be an undergraduate student with at least one actuarial exam passed

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

at least one actuarial exam passed
intermediate or advanced Excel
working knowledge of VBA or SQL
experience with SAS

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics or Economics
Must have at least one actuarial exam completed
Intermediate or advanced Excel skills required
Working knowledge of VBA or SQL required
Experience with SAS highly preferred
