Actuarial people leader

Closer to people leadership than a pricing-underwriting partner role—the deciding factor is department management and staff development, not live deal support.

Manager-level Health actuarial pricing role for ACA individual products in Detroit, Michigan. You will lead pricing analytics, manage actuarial activities and staff development, coordinate across departments, and present recommendations to executives. The role calls for six years of actuarial experience; ASA or FSA is preferred.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science or related area
  • Six years of actuarial experience
  • Knowledge of all actuarial principles and practices
  • Knowledge of BCBSM internal functions
  • Extensive knowledge of health insurance products, operations and regulations
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply appropriate planning and prioritization techniques

Nice to have

  • ASA or FSA designation preferred
