Role Summary

HIGHLIGHTS

Senior health actuary role at a mutual health insurer in Des Moines, IA. You will analyze financial risk across provider networks, PBM contracts, exchanges and rate setting, build and maintain predictive models, and support pricing/reserving decisions. Hybrid role with Central Iowa preference and monthly travel to Des Moines headquarters.

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

Actuarial experience in health insurance
Subject-matter expertise in pricing, reserving, or predictive modeling
Data analysis experience using Excel, SAS or SQL

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required
Minimum 4 years of actuarial experience within health insurance
Proficient in data analysis using Excel, SAS or SQL
Advanced subject-matter expertise in two or more of pricing, reserving, or predictive modeling
Ability to independently manage projects and mentor actuarial staff
