We are currently seeking a Actuary Retirement Specialist to join our team!
What can you expect?
- As part of Mercer’s Technical Center of Expertise (TCOE), you are responsible for supporting your client team in delivering actuarial consulting services to retirement plan sponsors.
- Work on a variety of special projects for multiple clients, providing actuarial and technical expertise
- This position has responsibility for the completion of projects for both pension and OPEB plans.

We will count on you to:
- Perform necessary calculations or analysis on special retirement projects analyzing their impact on all of a client’s retirement plans, including assumption studies, plan design studies, post retiree medical and acquisition studies
- Part of the Technical Center of Expertise (TCOE) with technical knowledge in the areas of experience studies and non-discrimination testing
- Responsible for doing and /or checking experience studies and non-discrimination testing
- Systems Expert and Project Manager for the New Client Implementation Team with responsibility for onboarding new clients to Mercer valuation system which involves understanding the plan provisions and assumptions, applying that knowledge to coding Mercer systems and reviewing output, and identifying potential matching issues
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members related to specialized TCOE projects
- Acts as a mentor for more junior members of the team often involving peer review and final sign-off for smaller scale clients
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, statistics, economics, finance or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of pension-related work experience, preferably in a consulting environment
- Society of Actuaries ASA and EA designation or progress toward designation preferred
- Successful client-relationship experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Superior analytical ability
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
