What You Will Do

On a typical assignment, the Actuary will be responsible for:

  • Contribute to the vision of a given project and design analyses
  • Write reports and support Principal with client communication
  • Perform peer review on staff analyses and client deliverables
  • Direct interaction with client and/or client's other vendor partners (e.g., broker, captive manager, auditor)
  • Oversee the execution of the project
  • Direct staff participation
  • Train and provide guidance to Actuarial Analysts
  • Comply with internal quality control and peer review guidelines


This is a part-time position, estimated at 20 hours per week.

What We Are Looking For

Professional Qualifications (required)

  • Fellow with the Casualty Actuarial Society
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 10+ years of experience in property and casualty reserving and ratemaking
  • Experience with unemployment and workers compensation insurance
  • Experience presenting results and proposed changes to stakeholders
  • Experience successfully leading projects
  • Experience handling multiple projects and multi-tasking
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and data aggregation (SQL, Access, R)

  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Quick learner who takes initiative to dive deeper and solve problems

  • Experience with Statements of Actuarial Opinions for statutory insurance company Annual Statements
  • Experience supervising staff


Location

This is a remote position. Candidates hired into this role may work onsite in select Milliman office locations, if they prefer.

Compensation

The hourly range is $57 to $117, depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
