As an ADP Actuarial Assistant, you will be part of our Actuarial Development Program where you begin as a student that will rotate into various positions throughout the actuarial departments in order to gain a wide range of knowledge and experiences that can be leveraged throughout the Actuary’s career. Although not every rotation path is the same for every student, common roles often include, but are not limited to, Valuation, Product Development, Asset-Liability Management, and Experience Analysis.

About the role

The Pricing Model Development & Strategy team for Individual Retirement's pricing area is looking for an ADP Actuarial Assistant. The successful candidate for this position is expected to design/select algorithms, develop and fully test code, and write technical documentation for the variable, indexed and fixed annuity pricing model and related platforms/systems. This position will report to the Model Development Lead and will be based in Woodland Hills, CA (Preferred), or Houston, TX. Qualified remote candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Essential functions

• Develop robust modeling solutions to implement complex feature and assumptions into Risk Agility FM and/or Prophet.
• Enhance modeling process, by proposing/adhering to sound modeling practice, and providing clear documentation of model changes.
• Partner with internal and external groups to ensure the validity of the pricing models.
• Research and review analytical tools for accuracy and efficiency
• Pursue actuarial exam progress, if applicable

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field
• Completion of one or more SOA exams
• 3.2 GPA
• Prior internship experience preferred
• Detailed oriented
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Familiarity with MS Office especially Access and Excel
• Programming skill in Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ is required

For positions based in Woodland Hills, CA the base salary range is $75,000-$90,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
