As an ADP Assistant Actuary, you will be part of our Actuarial Development Program where you begin as a student that will rotate into various positions throughout the actuarial departments in order to gain a wide range of knowledge and experiences that can be leveraged throughout the Actuary’s career. Although not every rotation path is the same for every student, common roles often include, but are not limited to, Valuation, Product Development, Asset-Liability Management, and Experience Analysis.

Corebridge Financial is a leading provider of Fixed Indexed Annuities (FIAs). As Corebridge Financial’s FIA block of business grows rapidly, the FIA valuation team is an increasingly critical function for the Individual Retirement and Retirement Services (Group Retirement) businesses. Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in monthly/quarterly GAAP reporting cycle and ensure calculated reserves and deferred acquisition costs are in compliance with any applicable accounting standards
  • Prepare analysis and exhibits explaining changes in results, and help communicate the results to senior management and key stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Prepare exhibits for 10K and 10Q filings
  • Support model development team with implementation of new FIA product features, conduct User Acceptance Testing with technical expertise in product features, modelling approaches, and accounting guidance, and document all findings and results
  • Support unlocking assumption updates and analysis
  • Assist with requests from internal and external auditors, Enterprise Risk Management and model validation, and Chief Finance Actuary teams
  • Enhance financial reporting processes with a focus on automating controls

  • Creation/maintenance of benchmark testing tools, including developing spreadsheets/programs based on model specifications to replicate model functionality and assembling benchmark data for model comparisons
  • Utilize your communication and documentation skills to full present results (e.g., models) and allow others to fully understand the materiality of the results and assumptions made so proper actions can be taken
  • Work with actuarial units, finance teams, and Business units across the organization to understand stakeholder requirements

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field
  • 3+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience with Life & Retirement Insurance products
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries with goal of attaining FSA designation
  • Highly detailed oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office especially Access and Excel
  • Programming skill in SAS, Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ is required
  • Experience with modeling software is required

For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $90,000-$125,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
