Senior life actuarial leadership role (Appointed Actuary) responsible for asset adequacy, statutory reserves, VM-30 and cash flow testing for Brighthouse Financial. You will lead regulatory engagement, present to senior management and the Board, and partner with ALM, valuation, and experience teams. Role is based in Charlotte, NC with a flexible hybrid/remote work model.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Serve as Appointed Actuary for multiple Brighthouse legal entities and attest to statutory reserves
- Own asset adequacy, VM-30 and cash flow testing analyses and governance
- Present technical findings to senior management and the Board
- Lead regulatory and rating agency engagement and industry working groups
- Flexible hybrid work model based in Charlotte, NC
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Asset adequacy testing and VM-30
- Statutory valuation and reserve attestation
- Cash flow modeling and cash flow testing governance
- Valuation and ALM experience
- Interacting with regulators, auditors, rating agencies, and Boards
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- FSA and MAAA required with 10+ years of industry experience
- At least 3 years serving as an appointed actuary
- Experience in valuation and/or ALM roles
- Deep expertise in asset adequacy testing, VM-30, statutory valuation, and cash flow modeling
- Proven experience engaging with regulators, auditors, rating agencies, and Boards
