This Assistant Actuary provides actuarial support for the Accident & Health Digital business. The role will ideally sit in our Philadelphia, PA, office on a 3+2 hybrid schedule. Other Chubb offices or a remote work arrangement may be considered. The position reports to the Lead Actuary for A&H with matrix reporting to the Chubb Consumer Digital Team. In addition to regular interaction with the A&H Actuarial Team, this role will be dedicated to and a member of the A&H Team responsible for the development and management of products specifically for digital* distribution. There is flexibility to fill this position at a lower job grade for qualified candidate with less than 6 years of experience.

Duties and Responsibilities related to these product lines:
• Potential to provide guidance and training to junior actuarial staff members, including formal review of Actuarial work products before distributing.
• Collaborate with the A&H Digital Team and other areas of Accident & Health (ex: Underwriting, Product Management, Sales, Finance, etc.) to support ongoing revisions and expansion of A&H Digital product offerings.
• Provide support for actuarial filing and regulatory requirements for individual state rate filings, market conduct exams, and data submissions.
• Analyze profitability and rate level adequacy across numerous dimensions of the A&H Digital portfolio (ex: product line, state, distribution type etc.).
• Take part in monthly and quarterly financial reporting exercises around loss experience, rate changes, book mix, trend, etc.
• Provide actuarial pricing support for reserve reviews (as needed)

Qualifications
• Minimum of six (6) years of insurance industry experience including experience with rate filings, preferably with Accident & Health related products.
• Prior managerial experience will be advantageous, but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide clear and concise verbal and written communications of analyses, results, and work products.
• Should have good organization skills with the ability to maintain detailed documentation and record keeping.
• Familiarity with a programming or querying language such as SAS / SQL / R / FOCUS / Python / etc.
• ASA required; FSA preferred.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or similar technical discipline.
