JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Tenure-earning Assistant Professor (9-month) in statistics/data science/actuarial science with AI focus
- Conduct high-impact research and pursue external funding
- Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, advise theses/dissertations
- Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration across UCF units
- Position based in Orlando, Florida; expected to reside in Florida at start
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- research in statistics, data science, actuarial science or biostatistics
- applied or theoretical AI / machine learning research experience
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Biostatistics or closely related field (or ABD with degree by start)
- Evidence of scholarly research potential (peer-reviewed publications or trajectory)
- Ability to teach and mentor at undergraduate and graduate levels
- Strong communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills
