Associate Actuary (Life) on the Workplace Benefits Disability & Life Pricing team in Des Moines, IA. You will lead pricing methodology development and product design for LTD, STD, and PFML, build and improve pricing processes and forecasts, and partner with Product, Underwriting, and Distribution. Senior-level individual contributor role requiring an FSA and 6+ years of actuarial experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead pricing and product development for LTD, STD, and PFML
- Develop new pricing methodologies and perform actuarial forecasts
- Partner with Product, Underwriting, and Distribution stakeholders
- Excel and VBA required; programming in SAS/R/Python is valued
- Flexible work: in-office, hybrid (3+ days/week), or conditional remote
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Pricing for Long-Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, and PFML
- Exposure to Group Life products
- Experience developing pricing methodologies and forecasts
- Knowledge of actuarial standards, laws, and regulations
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) required
- 6+ years of actuarial experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Knowledge of relevant laws, ASOPs, and professional conduct required
- Proficiency with Excel and VBA required; programming (SAS/R/Python) helpful
