Responsibilities

The Associate Actuary will collaborate with senior and executive leaders in building out the Actuarial team from the ground up.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead actuarial data analyses and modeling to support the actuarial, clinical, finance, and business development teams with data analysis and modeling
  • Collaborate effectively across operational teams
  • Lead in designing and building claim analysis data tools to stratify large data sets across different financial and outcomes metrics to provide recommendations
  • Lead in designing and building tools to help in trend projections, forecasting, Value Based Care modeling, and risk arrangement assessment and tracking
  • Succinctly communicate outcomes of various project and analytics to teams across multiple verticals and members of the Interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a team-based service environment
  • 5+ years of experience in Managed Care, Health or related industry
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills using Excel
  • Strong data analysis skills using SQL and/or SAS and R or Python
  • Ability to work in change environment and willingness to pivot quickly on priorities
  • Ability to work independently and in a relatively unstructured manner
  • Demonstrate genuine curiosity on the job when performing data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, you must be bold enough to speak up and ask for assistance when needed.
