Associate Actuary (The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ): Responsible for actuarial valuation system conversions from ALFA, AXIS to Polysystems. Enhance and maintain valuation systems for new product features, and assumption unlocking. Perform financial analysis of impacts due to business initiatives such as reinsurance. Refine stat and GAAP reserve calculation methodologies, and implement those changes in the valuation systems, and evaluate reserve impact due to regulation requirement changes such as PBR and Target Improvement. Perform regression tests, document valuation system changes, and SOX controls. Understand and explain technical actuarial results to senior management. Build Python-based testing tools to validate external vendor valuation systems. Lean into agile best practices to drive culture of technical excellence, focus on value, and prioritization. Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

Telecommuting permitted up to 4 days a week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in any actuarial valuation modeling software.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:
  • Scripting in Python programming language;
  • Replicating actuarial calculations for GAAP and stat valuation using Excel VBA; and
  • Extracting and analyzing data using Power BI and SQL.


Must hold an Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation.
