Role Summary

HIGHLIGHTS

Associate-level life valuation role focused on special projects across UL, IUL, VUL and traditional life products. You will lead assumption setting (IFRS/GAAP/Stat), valuation and transaction assessment, and deliver analyses to senior management. Hybrid role based in Cedar Rapids, IA at Transamerica, groomed toward leadership development.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Lead assumption setting and valuation analysis across UL, IUL, VUL and traditional life blocks
Assess non-routine financial transactions including reinsurance and COI rate impacts
Develop and test models (AXIS proficiency preferred) and support GAAP implementation
Work cross-functionally and present findings to senior actuarial and non-technical leaders
Hybrid role based in Cedar Rapids, IA with occasional travel (<10%)

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

Life valuation and assumption setting (IFRS/GAAP/Stat)
UL/IUL/VUL reserving and hedging impacts analysis
Reinsurance experience (YRT, coinsurance, sidecars)
Policyholder behavior and lapse/term behavior analysis

KEY REQUIREMENTS

FSA required, or ASA acceptable with 8+ years relevant experience
Bachelor’s in Actuarial Science/Math/Stats/Economics +5 years (Master’s +4 accepted)
Experience with life valuation and assumption setting (IFRS/GAAP/Stat)
Strong modelling and large-data analytical experience (AXIS proficiency preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication to senior management
