Associate Actuary - Trad Valuation (Life) to lead GAAP/LDTI implementation and ongoing GAAP governance for Traditional Life blocks. You will own GAAP valuation reporting, review model changes, evaluate assumptions and partner with accounting and finance. Hybrid role based in Cedar Rapids, IA (3 days in office).
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead GAAP valuation implementation and reporting for Traditional Life blocks
- Perform technical model reviews and validate assumptions and coding
- Prepare tools and reports to analyze quarterly GAAP financial results
- Hybrid role – 3 days in office (Tue–Thu) in Cedar Rapids hub
- FSA preferred (ASA with extended experience accepted); 5+ years life valuation experience
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Life insurance product valuation
- GAAP/LDTI valuation and financial reporting
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- FSA designation required (ASA accepted with 8 years of relevant experience)
- Bachelor’s in Actuarial Science/Math/Stats/Econ + 5 years relevant (Master’s +4 accepted)
- Experience with life insurance product valuation and assumptions
- Ability to work autonomously and exercise significant judgment
