Associate Actuary role focused on Universal Life (UL) GAAP valuation and governance. You will lead GAAP implementation for UL blocks, validate model changes (AXIS), and prepare quarterly GAAP reporting while partnering with accounting and finance. Hybrid role based in Cedar Rapids, IA, requiring strong life product and financial reporting experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead GAAP valuation implementation and governance for Universal Life blocks
- Prepare tools and reports for quarterly GAAP financial results
- Perform technical reviews of model changes and validate assumptions
- Hybrid role – 3 days/week in office (Tuesday–Thursday) in Cedar Rapids hub
- FSA or ASA with extensive life valuation experience expected
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Universal Life GAAP valuation reporting
- Life insurance product experience
- AXIS modeling experience
- Large dataset analysis
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years relevant experience (alternatively FSA or ASA+8 years)
- Experience with life insurance products, especially Universal Life
- Strong AXIS modeling skills (GGY AXIS experience strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to analyze and interpret large data sets
- Effective verbal and written communication with senior stakeholders
