Your Future Team

The Individual Retirement Chief Finance Actuary team is responsible for delivering actuarial expertise and analysis that leads or supports various strategic initiatives, transformational activities and ongoing efforts within the Individual Retirement business and across functional areas. The Pricing Oversight & Finance Strategy role will provide product pricing support through review and collaboration with the Pricing team on the modeling of new product development as well as providing actuarial analysis on strategic initiatives that may cover reinsurance, ALM, capital management.

Individual Retirement CFA Support on Strategic Initiatives
  • Provide analysis, research, document review, coordinate with subject matter experts across functions and develop a working knowledge of key issues as it relates to strategic initiatives including but not limited to:
    • Asset Liability Management
    • Reinsurance
    • Capital management
    • Regulatory initiatives
    • Development of key performance metrics
  • Drive actuarial projects as needed to assist the success of the Individual Retirement CFA team
  • Identify business opportunities relating to accounting or regulatory changes and support initiatives to capitalize on opportunities
  • Act as Moody's AXIS projection model owner to ensure that models are maintained and fit for their intended use, working closely with centralized modeling team


Support Product Pricing Initiatives
  • Actively provide insights into pricing initiatives and analysis
    • Work with Pricing team to ensure that appropriate controls and procedures are followed regarding model changes
    • Provide value added feedback regarding methodology and assumption setting
    • Evaluate profitability and risk of newly proposed products or product features
  • Provide actuarial support to the overall build out and enhancement of Pricing Models particularly as it relates to reserve components, ensuring reasonable consistency with current valuation methodologies and assumptions
  • Actively participate in new product development initiatives
  • Develop and socialize assumption recommendations for new products and product changes if needed


Position Requirements
  • 7+ years actuarial experience working in complex, multi-segment, corporate environments
  • Undergraduate degree in business, actuarial, mathematics, statistics or analytical field is required
  • Fellowship (FSA) or Associateship (ASA) of the Society of Actuaries required
  • Previous actuarial pricing, valuation, Statutory and/or GAAP valuation and/or reinsurance experience preferred
  • Resourceful, self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently with limited guidance and supervision
  • Track record of operating within and following internal compliance procedures and policy as documented within an organization
  • Variable, Fixed and/or Fixed Index Annuity experience preferred
  • Strong prioritization skills and reporting capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and in a concise manner
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships across teams with professionals with varying backgrounds
  • Experience running multiple projects in parallel and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

For positions based in Woodland Hills, CA the base salary range is $110,000-$160,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
