Job Description

Responsible for validating, calibrating, and projecting experience used by the VP, Inforce Optimization to recommend specific actions to senior management to optimize underperforming treaties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of 1-2 junior actuaries
  • Provide timely and accurate actuarial support for actions to be taken by SCOR to optimize its inforce block
  • Review treaty terms, validation, assumptions, and pricing files
  • Update models that inform inforce analytics
  • Identify and report actuarial risks as required for the group and legal entity risk dashboards
  • Support the recommendation of various courses of action on underperforming business that management may consider in selecting the optimal approach
  • Participate in providing recommendations to senior management as part of governance process
  • Assist team in completing ad hoc requests
  • Other duties as required


Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent in mathematics or actuarial science or related field
  • FSA designation
  • 10+ years of actuarial experience preferred
  • 3+ years of management/leadership experience preferred
  • Experience working with senior level executives
  • Superior analytical skills and financial acumen with strong problem solving ability
  • Ability to consider broad picture and details
  • Highly motivated self-starter and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of pricing, valuation methods and financial results preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize business, legal, and actuarial considerations
