They inform the decisions of AIG executives and comply with regulatory requirements, maintaining financial discipline, transparency, and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

The Finance function consists of a variety of teams with an array of responsibilities, including Corporate Development; Global Tax; FP&A, Business Finance and Finance Transformation; Asset Management; Controllership and Accounting; Treasury; Investor Relations; and Finance Operations.

About the Position

The Assistant Vice President, Capital Planning & Analysis is responsible for U.S. insurance company risk-based capital calculations, capital modeling and forecasting. This role will collaborate with other Capital Planning & Analysis personnel responsible for economic and rating agency capital. Additionally, this role will work closely with Treasury personnel on capital and liquidity contingency planning.

The AVP, Capital Planning & Analysis will report to the Vice President of Capital Planning & Analysis.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Calculation of U.S. insurance company risk-based capital calculations for statutory reporting
  • Preparation of forecasts of U.S. insurance company risk-based capital calculations to support effective and efficient business decision making
  • Support the VP of Capital Planning & Analysis in the development of an annual capital plan for CFO and Treasurer
  • Participation in capital and liquidity contingency planning, in collaboration with Treasury
  • Implement and execute change management of new tools, templates, and technology designed to improve how the organization plans and manages capital
  • Implement and maintain appropriate control framework, including model governance processes and best practices
  • Participate in technical analyses and projects with other personnel from the Capital Planning & Analysis, Financial Strategy, FP&A, Treasury, Actuarial, Investments and Enterprise Risk Management teams
  • Participate in internal discussions with the Actuarial and Legal, Compliance and Regulatory teams on regulatory and industry dialogue on capital matters


Skills & Experience

  • Experience in financial industry required; actuarial, risk management and / or treasury experience in or for the insurance industry strongly preferred; experience with risk-based capital frameworks a plus
  • A degree in a quantitative field preferred; professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, FSA) a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of financial and insurance risk modeling
  • Must be responsive to leadership requests and comfortable performing effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Support effective partnerships with key internal stakeholders and demonstrate strong collaboration skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Able to work & effectively present to senior members of the L&R Finance team
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

The Capital Planning and Analysis Team is based in New York, NY and Houston, TX. Preference is for a hybrid work schedule based in one of these locations, but also open to considering remote candidates.

For positions based in New York City, the base salary range is and the position is $135,000 - $185,000 eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we're proud to offer a range of competitive benefits

For positions based in Woodland Hills, CA, the base salary range is and the position is $125,000 - $180,000 eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we're proud to offer a range of competitive benefits
