Closer to a large-carrier specialist than a capital strategy role because the mandate is deep ownership of Life and Annuities inforce capabilities rather than enterprise ERM or ORSA.

AVP-level Life actuarial leadership role in Montpelier, Vermont, focused on inforce management across individual life and annuity blocks. You will set strategy for rate actions, experience studies, NGE and illustration actuary testing, reinsurance, profitability, governance, and senior-management recommendations. The role reports to the VP, Inforce Management and requires an FSA plus 8+ years of experience.

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or related field
FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries)
8+ years of actuarial or equivalent experience in roles of progressively increasing responsibility
Deep knowledge of Statutory, Tax, and GAAP requirements affecting Life and Annuities inforce management
Strong financial modeling experience using actuarial software
Extensive experience leading high-value, complex projects and cross-functional teams
Experience with Life NGEs, IA testing, profitability analysis, experience studies, and related governance
Ability to evaluate trade-offs and translate complex actuarial analysis into senior-management recommendations
Expert communication skills, strategic thinking, enterprise perspective, and business acumen
