HIGHLIGHTS

Senior liability risk role supporting product and deal diligence for spread-based life and retirement products, including annuities and pension risk transfer. You will represent Risk across ALM, liquidity, reinsurance and capital topics, support Liability Risk and Assumption Oversight Committees, and report to the Athene Bermuda Chief Risk Officer. Location: West Des Moines, IA (Toronto candidates also considered).

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Lead liability risk oversight for spread-based products (annuities, pension risk transfer)
  • Conduct product and deal diligence, develop risk reports for governance and BMA submissions
  • Support Liability Risk and Assumption Oversight Committees and pre-meeting briefings
  • Work closely with pricing, actuarial, finance, and Bermuda CRO as second-line risk lead
  • Based in West Des Moines HQ (Toronto option); senior role reporting to Bermuda CRO

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • annuities and pension risk transfer
  • reinsurance experience
  • ALM, liquidity and collateral risk
  • knowledge of regulatory and capital frameworks

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Actuarial Fellowship required (FSA, FICA, or FIA)
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of annuities, pension risk transfer and reinsurance
  • Experience with ALM, liquidity, capital frameworks and financial reporting
