HIGHLIGHTS

Entry-level actuarial support role in a state P&C (workers' compensation) actuarial team in New York. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Support NYCIRB USR and Financial Data Call (FDC) reporting for Workers' Compensation
  • Reconcile discrepancies between USR and FDC and perform special research tasks
  • Work with Excel (advanced), run reports and manipulate data; familiarity with SQL/VBA/Access
  • Entry-level trainee under the Experience Rating Board Unit (NY HELPS program)
  • No visa sponsorship; New York State employee with potential telecommuting options

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • NYCIRB USR and FDC reporting
  • Workers' Compensation data reporting and reconciliation
  • Experience rating / discrepancy research between reporting sources

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Meet Civil Service eligibility OR one year transferable permanent service OR four years business analysis experience (degree substitutions available)
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit and document business requirements and validate through SDLC
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel data extraction and manipulation
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and handle multiple tasks
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; NYSIF does not sponsor employment visas
