Closer to a regulatory compliance role than a capital strategy role because the defining mandate is ERISA policy, standards, and government oversight rather than enterprise capital decisions.
Executive retirement actuarial role with the Employee Benefits Security Administration in Washington, DC. As Chief Actuary, you will advise senior Department and Congressional stakeholders on pension, retirement, health, and welfare benefit policy; lead actuarial research and standards work; and manage EBSA's professional actuarial staff.
Requirements
Must have
Must be a U.S. Citizen
At least one year of specialized experience at GS-15 grade level or equivalent
Expert-level proficiency in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, and risk analysis
Bachelor's degree with specific course requirements in actuarial science and mathematics
Ability to convey complex actuarial and policy issues to technical and non-technical audiences
Subject to financial disclosure requirements
Must complete 1-year probationary period if not previously completed
Candidate required to obtain necessary security/investigation level
