Description:Data Extraction and Management: Extract, review, and manage large, complex datasets from various sources, including internal proprietary database and external data sources.Book of Business Analysis: Perform studies on health plan performance for self-insured employers, identifying trends in medical and pharmacy costs, utilization patterns, and population health.Trend Identification: Analyze data to uncover meaningful patterns and trends related to chronic conditions, high-cost claimants, and variations in care delivery.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with senior analysts and client-facing teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical tasks.Reporting and Visualization: Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, validity, and integrity of data and reports to maintain the highest quality standards.Process Improvement: Participate in projects to automate reporting and improve data collection and analysis processes.Develop Models: For new and emerging topics, ability to develop model to predict cost and utilization changes for book of business and individual clients.
Qualification: Bachelor's degree in quantitative field such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Health informatics with at least 3 years of experience of data analytics in health insurance field.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation. Experience with other statistical software or programming languages like R or Python is a plus.Experience with data visualization tools, for example PowerBI or Tableau.Familiarity with health insurance concepts including plan designs, networks, cost containment strategies, payment integrity programs, medical terminology, and healthcare billing codes.Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exemplary ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision-making.Superior to excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.High degree of self-motivation and creative problem solving.Ability to provide, where appropriate, clear direction and the ability to listen and incorporate the ideas of others.Demonstrated ability to meet internal and external deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.Demonstrated commitment to serving clients and internal stakeholders while taking ownership of work product.Ability to develop, support, and carry through on decisions.Ability to travel (less than 10%).
