JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Lead enterprise medical expense forecasting for Optum Home & Community senior populations
  • Own actuarial methodologies, assumptions, and executive-level forecast reporting
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing actuarial analytics team
  • Build forecasting frameworks from inception through automation using R, SAS, SQL, Python
  • Remote role (U.S.) with local on-site requirements for Minneapolis/DC hires

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • Medical expense forecasting for at-risk populations
  • Trend development and risk assessment in payer or provider settings
  • Presenting analytic findings to senior leadership

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Credentialed Actuary: ASA or FSA required
  • 8+ years of healthcare actuarial experience
  • 3+ years of people and/or project management experience
  • Significant experience in medical expense forecasting and trend development
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with R, SAS, SQL, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, VBA
