The Individual Life Modeling, Reporting, Innovation & Controls team is seeking a Director, Actuary with a modeling background and intellectual curiosity to lead a modeling team within the Individual Life Valuation and Projections Team. The core responsibilities of this role are leading the non- structural modeling updates for the annual GAAP assumption update, reinsurance rate change analysis, sensitivity analysis, and ad hoc modeling requests. This role will work closely with our Individual Life modeling partners.

This associate will exhibit strong organizational and communication skills and will be compiling and presenting technical results and insightful analysis to various levels of management. This individual will be initiative-taking in partnering with our modeling team to drive efficiency and quality in our valuation capabilities and will need to possess technical and leadership competencies with a passion for continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Prepare and effectively communicate modeling output results to various customers (e.g. Finance, FSS, Reinsurance, Tax, Treasury, etc.) and understand and explain the drivers of reserve movements.
• Earn confidence and trust by demonstrating ownership, commitment, and follow-through in delivering accurate and timely results.
• Develop and maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholders.
• Serve as a thought leader for peers in driving awareness around innovative technology solutions.

Qualifications:
• 7+ years of actuarial experience including working with actuarial models.
• Progress towards or attainment of Fellowship of Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation.
• Superior technical skills and ability to understand complex quantitative concepts and models.
• Enthusiastic, curious, resourceful, and a self-starter comfortable working in fast paced dynamic environment. Takes ownership of professional development of self and team.
• Ability to grasp complex subject matter, provide insightful analysis, and develop innovative solutions.
• Experience with Polysystem's, SQL, Python, and PowerBI.
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to present technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with actuarial concepts, financial reporting, and/or individual life insurance products a plus.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $156,100.00 to $211,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
