Role Summary

HIGHLIGHTS

Senior retirement actuarial role focused on defined benefit and cash balance plan valuation and compliance. You will review and certify client deliverables, research pension law and IRS/PBGC requirements, and support ASC 715/960 accounting. Position is based in Hartford, CT and reports to the FuturePlan Lead Actuary.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Perform and review actuarial valuations and pension deliverables for DB and cash balance plans
Ensure compliance with IRS determinations, Form 5500, PBGC filings and ASC 715/960
Research pension law and provide technical guidance to staff
Use Excel and industry pension valuation software to prepare and certify work
Based in Hartford, CT; serves as an expert resource and reviewer

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

Defined benefit and cash balance plan valuation
Pension law and IRS determination research
ASC 715/960 pension accounting
Form 5500 and PBGC filings
Combined plan non-discrimination testing

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Enrolled Actuary designation required
Minimum 5 years of industry experience
Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, math, or related field
Deep knowledge of pension law, plan documents, and IRS determinations
Proficiency with Excel and pension valuation software
