Responsible for reviewing and certifying valuations, benefit communications, IRS/PBGC filings, ASC 715/960 accounting work, and ensuring technical quality for DB, Cash Balance and DB/DC combo plans. Requires deep pension law and valuation software knowledge and 5 years industry experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Review and certify actuarial valuations and pension deliverables for DB and Cash Balance plans
- Support IRS determination filings, PBGC forms, Form 5500 work and ASC 715/960 accounting items
- Provide technical guidance and training to staff
- Work with Microsoft Excel and industry pension valuation software
- Based in Dallas, TX (FuturePlan team within Ascensus)
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Defined Benefit pension valuations
- Cash Balance plan administration
- ASC 715/960 accounting for pension plans
- PBGC and Form 5500 filings
- IRS determination and termination submissions
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Enrolled Actuary designation with 5 years industry experience
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related field
- Advanced knowledge of pension law and plan documents
- Proven expertise with actuarial valuations and pension valuation software
- Strong Excel and technical/analytical skills
