Senior retirement actuarial role focused on valuation, compliance and plan administration for Defined Benefit and Cash Balance plans in Washington, DC. You will review and certify actuarial valuations, ASC 715/960 reporting, IRS and PBGC filings, and support staff with technical training. The role reports to the Chief Actuary and requires an Enrolled Actuary designation with ~5 years' industry experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Review and certify DB and Cash Balance actuarial valuations and reports
- Prepare ASC 715/960 accounting entries and PBGC/IRS filings
- Provide technical training and answer staff pension law questions
- Work with pension valuation software and advanced Excel
- Based in Washington, DC; reports to the Chief Actuary
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Defined Benefit and Cash Balance plan valuation
- Pension law and plan document interpretation
- ASC 715/960 pension accounting experience
- PBGC and IRS filings and Form 5500 familiarity
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Enrolled Actuary designation required with 5 years industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, or related field
- Advanced knowledge of pension law, plan documents, and IRS rulings
- Experience with ASC 715/960 and PBGC/IRS filings
- Strong Excel skills and experience with pension valuation software
