Head of Portfolio Steering for a global insurer/reinsurer in New York. Lead design and delivery of portfolio steering, quarterly performance reviews, and pricing inputs to business reviews. Build out portfolio steering capabilities, partner with pricing, underwriting and analytics, and present insights to senior leadership and the board. Senior/head-level role reporting to the Chief Pricing Actuary.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead design and delivery of the Pricing Review Group and quarterly portfolio steering
- Translate portfolio performance into account-level pricing actions with pricing teams
- Build structured LOB deep dives and support Group Planning and Lloyd's planning
- Produce board- and committee-level exhibits and commentary on portfolio performance
- Hybrid/flexible New York-based role reporting to the Chief Pricing Actuary
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Global corporate and specialty reinsurance experience
- Portfolio steering or performance management experience
- Experience partnering with pricing actuaries and underwriters
- Delivering insight from small or messy datasets
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel presentation experience
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in portfolio steering, performance management, or FP&A
- Deep knowledge of global corporate and specialty (re)insurance
- Experience working closely with pricing actuaries and underwriters
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel; experience with messy data and MI packs
- Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
