Closer to client-facing consulting than a specialist carrier role because assignments span multiple regulatory engagements and deliverables.
Senior Health Actuary role with RSM’s Health Risk & Regulatory Consulting team, working remotely in the US. You’ll support client engagements involving financial exams, rate filing reviews, special studies, research, health pricing, and regulatory analysis. The role suits candidates with 5+ years of insurance, regulatory, or consulting experience; ASA, FSA, or MAAA credentials are strongly preferred.
Requirements
Must have
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Statistics
- 5+ years professional experience in a state insurance department, health insurance company, financial services or consulting firm
- Ability to work without visa sponsorship now or in the future
Strongly preferred
- ASA, FSA, MAAA designations strongly preferred
- ACA pricing experience strongly preferred
- Prior consulting and/or regulatory experience preferred
- Knowledge of health rating, underwriting, financial modeling, pricing, reinsurance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and project planning software
Nice to have
- Experience with Medicare Supplement products
- Skills in Visual Basic, MS Excel, R programming/R-Studio, Python and other applications
- MBA and/or professional certification
