Closer to client-facing consulting than a modelling-heavy individual contributor role because senior-stakeholder advice and engagement leadership are central.
Health actuarial consulting Manager role in Deloitte’s Insights, Innovation & Operate team, available in Tempe, Arizona and Tampa, Florida among other locations. You’ll advise health plans and insurers on pricing, forecasting, reserving, predictive modeling, product strategy, reimbursement models, and value-based care while leading client engagements and teams.
Requirements
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of health actuarial experience
- Passage of 5 actuarial exams
- Ability to travel 50%, on average
- 6+ years of consulting, health plan, or insurance company experience
- 4+ years of experience leading teams
- ASA with progression to FSA, FSA, or career ASA designation
- 4+ years of experience with product design or product strategy
- 4+ years of experience with reimbursement models, including value-based care or ACO modeling
- 4+ years with risk adjustment, group insurance, M&A, or health reform in individual/small group/Medicaid markets
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead projects or workstreams
- Ability to mentor and provide clear guidance to others
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
