Senior Health actuarial consulting role with BPAS in Syracuse, New York, serving mid-to-large clients through its Health Benefit Consulting Services practice. You’ll perform retiree and active health valuations, pricing and reserve analyses, advise on compliance and plan design, and communicate results directly to clients. The role is onsite and pays $80,000-$139,633 annually.
Requirements
Must have
- ASA or FSA credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics or related field
- Experience with ASC 715-60, GASB 75, and Statutory accounting
Strongly preferred
- Minimum 8 years experience with GASB 75 retiree health valuation
- Knowledge of Health & Welfare plan design, pricing strategies, and competitive market practices
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and client service mentality
- Attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Conscientious, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively
- Project management experience and aptitude to train, mentor, and review work of entry level actuarial analysts
- Knowledge of Health & Welfare plan designs, funding arrangements, pricing strategies, provider networks, and competitive market practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
