Role Summary

Role type

Actuarial function builder

Closer to a regulatory-compliance role than a pure modelling seat, but the deciding factor is building the L&H actuarial function and infrastructure from scratch.

Senior Health and Life actuary role, flexible anywhere in the United States, with Chicago among the company’s office locations. You will be the first L&H actuary, owning pricing, rate and form filings, regulatory approvals, implementation, and actuarial infrastructure. The role requires an FSA, MAAA membership, USQS qualification, and at least three years of relevant experience.

Requirements

Must have

  • FSA and MAAA membership
  • Qualified under US Qualification Standards
  • At least 3 years of life/health actuarial experience

Nice to have

  • Filed through SERFF under own name
  • Experience with ACA-compliant rate filings or LTC/disability rate increases
  • Experience with principle-based reserving VM-20 or product development
  • State insurance department experience
  • Comfortable with regulatory scrutiny of predictive models in life/health
  • Quick learner, ownership mindset, comfortable with multiple hats
