Senior health actuary (Lead Actuary) based in Austin, TX. You will lead pricing, risk management, and regulatory actuarial work for commercial health products including self-funded, level-funded and stop-loss offerings. The role reports to the CFO, manages an actuarial team, and partners with Product, Underwriting, Finance and external MGUs/TPAs in a hybrid Texas-based environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead pricing and actuarial strategy for commercial health, self-funded, and stop-loss products
- Manage and mentor an actuarial team and oversee project delivery
- Develop actuarial models, rate filings, network contracting and cost-management analytics
- Build dashboards and analytics; experience with Tableau and Office suite required
- Hybrid role in Austin, TX; employees must reside in Texas, Austin-area work ~2 days/week

KEY REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years of actuarial experience in a healthcare setting
- Proven experience managing actuarial teams and mentoring staff
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience pricing commercial health, self-funded/level-funded and stop-loss products
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau; statistical analysis and predictive modeling
