Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Life Officer/Assistant Vice President. This position is responsible for leading the annuity business, serving as Illustration Actuary, developing and pricing life insurance products, and leading all conversion initiatives to FAST.

The role is located in our Lincoln, RI office, and will be eligible for up to two work from home days per week.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leading all annuity initiatives including product development and inforce management
  • Responsible for developing interest credited rate and ALM strategies in concert with Investments
  • Serving as the Illustration Actuary for all lines up business
  • Responsible for setting and monitoring sales compensation
  • Ensures compliance with NY regulation 4228 (compensation, self-support testing, etc)
  • Leading life insurance product development and pricing as needed
  • Lead the product development process from beginning to end, engaging various departments within the company to meet deadlines in a timely manner
  • Proactively engage with the development team to improve process efficiency and ensure testing accuracy
  • Responsible for converting all policies to the FAST administration platform
  • Management of 1-3 direct reports
  • Leading special projects as needed


Position Requirements

  • MAAA designation required, FSA preferred, but will consider experienced ASA if right candidate
  • 10+ Years of life insurance experience
  • Experience with life product development, particularly fixed annuity products, and preferably with term and whole life
  • Experience with interest credited rate strategies for fixed annuities
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills, with the ability to be an innovative thinker and understand the "big picture"
  • Solid interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
  • self-starter with the ability to achieve under tight deadlines in a rewarding and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel
  • Familiar with pricing / modeling software such as Prophet or MG-ALFA
  • Experience working with pricing and modeling software and model governance
