Closer to client-facing consulting than a modelling-heavy IC role because advising, sales support, travel, and practice development are explicit.

Life actuarial consulting role in Deloitte’s Houston-based Insights, Innovation & Operate team. As an Associate Consultant, you’ll advise life insurance and annuity clients on modernization, transformation, product development, assumptions, modeling, reporting, and analytics, with average travel of 50%.

Requirements

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of actuarial experience supporting life insurance or annuity products
  • Successful completion of 2 actuarial exams
  • Ability to travel 50% on average

Strongly preferred

  • 2+ years experience in product development including design, pricing, filing
  • 2+ years experience developing experience studies for life actuarial assumptions
  • 2+ years experience in assumption setting for pricing, forecasting, financial reporting, or embedded value
  • 2+ years experience building actuarial projection models for pricing, financial planning, ALM, or reporting
  • 2+ years experience in financial reporting using statutory, GAAP, IFRS, or tax accounting
  • 1+ years experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including purchase accounting
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
