Manager-level health actuarial pricing role in Hartford, Connecticut, supporting Medicaid managed care programs. You’ll evaluate capitation rates, forecasting, medical-cost trends, and financial performance while advising market, finance, and operations leaders and guiding actuarial analysts. The role combines SQL-based healthcare data analysis, strategic decision support, and indirect team leadership.
Requirements
Must have
- 3+ years of actuarial experience in or adjacent to managed care or health insurance
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong SQL and Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Experience working with large healthcare datasets
- Knowledge of actuarial modeling and forecasting techniques
Strongly preferred
- Experience with actuarial pricing, forecasting, reserving, or financial planning functions
- Experience with healthcare data warehouses and reporting platforms
- Experience assessing and explaining drivers of financial performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- Data visualization tools such as Power BI
