Model-owning actuarial manager
Closer to a modelling-heavy IC role than a pure people-leadership role: the manager owns core models and tools while also supervising analysts.
Manager-level remote Health actuarial role supporting Medicare Advantage and value-based care populations across the US. You’ll own reserving and forecasting models, medical margin methodology, close reporting, budget assumptions, and emerging ACO LEAD models while managing analysts. The role is based remotely in the US and reports to the Sr. Director of the Central Actuarial team.
Requirements
Must have
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship
- 6+ years of actuarial experience
Strongly preferred
- 8+ years of actuarial experience preferred
- ASA or FSA designation
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated leadership via project ownership, cross-functional initiatives, mentoring analysts, and/or prior people management
- Experience with reserving, forecasting, and trend development
- Strong understanding of Medicare Advantage
- Understanding of MA health plan data (Claims, MMR, MAO-004, etc.)
- Proficiency with Excel and SQL
- Experience presenting actuarial/financial concepts to a non-technical audience
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to influence, grow, and motivate others
- Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit
Nice to have
- ACO REACH or MSSP background is a plus
