Role type
Valuation and reporting cycle manager
Closer to a recurring valuation and reporting role than a capital or strategy position—the ad emphasizes plan administration, filings, and annual funding work.
Manager-level US retirement actuarial role supporting defined benefit and retiree medical plans in a fully remote setting. You will handle valuation software, benefit calculations, nondiscrimination testing, funding projections, plan amendments, and PBGC/Form 5500 filings while reporting to the VP–Chief Actuary.
Requirements
Must have
- College degree required
- Enrolled Actuary designation required
- Ten or more years of practical actuarial and pension experience
Strongly preferred
- Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics degree preferred
- Proficient in Proval valuation software
- Knowledge of post-retirement medical plans
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially a working knowledge of Excel
- Solid communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong interpersonal skills for training, mentoring, delegating, providing feedback
- Superior time management skills; adapt to rapidly changing priorities
Nice to have
- FSA or ASA designation a plus
- Cash balance plan experience a plus
- Prior supervisory or management experience a plus
- Visual Basic and Macros a plus
