JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead medical cost economics analyses and cost improvement strategies for a health plan
- Manage a team of 2–4 actuarial analysts and oversee complex projects
- Forecast financial results, analyze utilization and identify trend drivers
- Remote role within continental US; infrequent travel to Pittsburgh (2–3x/year)
- ASA or FSA required with 6.5 years’ progressive health actuarial experience
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- health insurance/managed care actuarial experience
- medical and pharmacy claims analysis
- medical cost utilization and unit cost analysis
- forecasting financial results and variance analysis
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- ASA or FSA certification by the Society of Actuaries required
- Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries required
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field required
- Minimum ~6.5 years of actuarial experience in health insurance/managed care
- Data retrieval skills and relational database experience
