Senior Health actuarial consulting role in Deloitte’s Government and Public Services practice, based in Chicago. You’ll advise public-sector clients on Medicaid managed-care and fee-for-service rate development, reimbursement, policy, forecasting, and risk adjustment, while supporting business development and innovative payment-model work. The role requires 5+ years of health actuarial experience and progress toward ASA or FSA.
Requirements
Must have
- 5+ years of health actuary experience in consulting and/or health plan/insurance company
- 2+ years of experience with Medicaid managed care capitation rate development and/or fee-for-service rate development
- Ability to travel up to 20-50%
- Exam progress towards ASA or FSA
- Bachelor's Degree
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Strongly preferred
- Ability to lead projects or workstreams
- Ability to mentor and provide clear guidance to others
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
Nice to have
- Experience with Medicaid waivers (1115, 1915 b/c, 1332)
- Experience with risk adjustment mechanisms
- Experience with Provider reimbursement streams (DSH, UPL, etc.)
- Experience with health care reform and individual medical and small group markets
- Experience with Medicare products (Medicare Advantage or Supplement)
