Milliman's Mountain Gulf Health Practice is looking for an FSA with experience in health actuarial work, with specific expertise for Medicaid. The position requires creative actuarial capabilities, good communication and interpersonal skills, and organizational talents. You will have the opportunity to:
- Perform analysis of healthcare data
- Write reports that explain technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience
- Manage projects through completion within an expected budget
- Supervise actuarial students and less-experienced actuaries in the completion of technical aspects of actuarial projects
Employees will be expected to develop the ability to manage client relationships and successfully generate new business with both new and existing clients.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications:
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field
- FSA designation
- Seven to twelve years of healthcare actuarial experience. Meaningful experience in Medicaid, especially capitation rate development and understanding of revenue mechanisms (e.g., risk scores). Preference for Medicaid experience from the state perspective.
- Proficiency with Excel
- Some knowledge of SAS, SQL, or R
- Strong understanding of the US healthcare system and Medicaid in particular
- Demonstrable skills in presenting technical concepts to a non-technical audience in an understandable way
- Superior problem-solving capabilities and desire to learn
- Spanish language skills desired but not required

Location
This position is fully remote, as our practice is comprised of consultants all over the country. Remote candidates anywhere in the US will be considered. This job posting is expected to close on March 1, 2026.
Compensation
The overall salary range for this role is $103,500 - $242,650. A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
For candidates residing in:
- Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia:
$119,025 - $214,820 if overall experience is less than 10 years; and
$134,435 - $242,650 for experience greater than 10 years.
- All other states:
$103,500 - $186,800 if overall experience is less than 10 years; and
$116,900 - $211,000 for experience greater than 10 years.
